‘Translator
Ms. Chigako Yamamoto (Civil engineering) |
After graduating from Otaru University of Commerce, she worked for a banking
institution for five years. She studied in England before founding English House
(now Gradus Multilingual Services) in 1987, a translation/interpretation
business. She earned a Master's degree from the Graduate School of Engineering,
Hokkaido University in 2001. Her thesis was "Application of Performance
Measurement for Snow and Ice Control in Sapporo City". Members of the Society of
Civil Engineering and Japan Society of Directory. She specializes in civil
engineering, environmental engineering, marketing, and accounting.

Mr. Michael O'Connell (Advertising) |
Born in Holland, and graduated from Swathmore College in Pennsylvania. He
was working for the major advertising company and involved in the project of
producing Hokkaido's tourist guidebooks. He has been active in writing for
papers and magazines in Japan. His rich knowledge in various genres enables him
to provide accurate editorial guidance. His copy writing particularly is
recognized as good.

Mr. Thomas Alan Owens (Economics and Finance) |
Born in the US and completed MBA at Columbia University in New York. He
studied Japan's financial system at the economics department in the Hokkaido
University as a scholarship student supported by the Ministry of Education, and
then worked in the international division of Hokkaido Takushoku Bank. After
retired from the bank, he started working as a freelance translator, specialized
in a company's annual report, bushiness, economics, and finance.

Ms. Kayo Yonezawa (human geography and regional
development) |
Completed a Master's degree in Geography at the University of Georgia, where
she experienced TA. Currently, as a freelance translator she works on a variety
of fields including regional development and urban
transportation.

Ms. Chigako Yamamoto |
A native of Hokkaido. Lived in Sapporo all of her life except for 10 months
spent in England. President and founder of Gradus Multilingual Services, Inc. In
March 2001, earned MasterΥs degree from the Graduate School of Engineering,
Hokkaido University. Being the mother of three children and
management/translator/interpreter/sweeper (!!) of Gradus, she leads a busy
life.

Ms. Akiko Nomura |
Native of Hokkaido. She takes responsibility for the accounting section.
Although young she quietly and steadily accomplishes her own tasks with a
splendid abacus skill. She is interested in music, particularly British
Rock.
